Camping in the Hill Country -- before 1920

I love to camp.  But looking over these photos, it's obvious things have changed.  I don't have a large canvas tent, I don't take horses along, and some of the gear used in the early part of the last century looks pretty heavy to carry.
These photos were taken by Gussie Mae Brown, the daughter of Potter Brown and the granddaughter of Joshua Brown, the founder of Kerrville.  These were given to me about a year ago, but we lacked a good negative scanner, so this is the first time these images have been seen in about 90 years.

  1. Joe, Gussie May is on the left without a bonnet in picture no 3 with the dutch oven cooking.
