A 1000 word photograph

There's a story behind this photograph, taken in 1967.  I'm not sure what that story is, but I think the photo is very interesting.  If anyone can identify the little buckeroo, I'd appreciate your help.  Just leave a comment in the comments section below.

Kerrville boy with snake, or at least
part of a snake.

  1. Could it be Chuck Dickerson, former Polie Chief? Looks a little like him.

  2. It may or may not be related, but I remember around that time hearing about a boy in town who had been bitten be a Coral snake. As I heard it, he was taken to Sid Peterson, but the anti-venom had to be rushed up from San Antonio by some kind of emergency transport. When it arrived in Kerrville, the instructions were in French. They called KERV and made an emergency plea for anyone who could read French to come to the hospital. Evidently someone did and they were able to administer the anti-venom properly. That's the way I heard it anyway.

  4. Can't help with who the boy is, but that REALLY looks like a Colt Police Positive or New Police in his holster.
