Kerrville's 1974 Christmas Parade, Part 2

Wendy McGraw McCurdy -- who was much younger than I though we were both at Tivy High School around the same time -- sent along some photographs of Kerrville's 1974 Christmas Parade, which traveled down Junction Highway and turned onto Water.  I'm hoping some of you readers can help me identify some of the folks pictured.  Thanks, Wendy, for sending these along!

  1. Hi Joe,

By 1974, I was overseas and hadn't been in Kerrville for years.

Because I had been away for so long, I don't have a clue to the identities of the people in the photos, not even the adults.

However, thank you for posting the photos; I greatly enjoyed seeing the cars and buildings from that era.

    Great job!

  2. I don't know if these were color corrected or otherwise restored, but they look great, and I'm grateful to Wendy McGraw McCurdy for the opportunity to see them. Thanks, Joe, for posting them. When these were taken I would have been in Mrs. Rasmus's 3rd grade class at Starkey. I was also in the Cub Scouts, so I was particularly interested the photo of the Cub Scouts on the trailer—I can just make out the words "Starkey PTA" underneath "Pack 125" on the sign. I don't remember that parade, but depending on when it was, I may have been out of town with my father for Christmas. I definitely recognize the boy at the right-hand corner of the trailer, and I believe we were in the same den. Sadly, I don't remember his name, and he's the only one on that side of the trailer I can really see. That's the best I can do, I'm afraid.
