There is a home on Circle Drive I pass each day. Recently it was purchased by Kathi and Dan Kuykendall and is being restored. The story of their purchase of the house made the front page of the Kerrville Daily Times, and a short video was also made, which you'll find at the bottom of this page.
Looking through my historic photograph collection, I thought I spied a house that matched. It was from the Lewis Dairy, which was once on Lewis Street. When my daughter and I went by to check it out, it was a match. The house has been moved -- uphill -- to its present site.
Here are the photos of the house from my collection. I believe the photos were taken around 1920.

Here's a short video by the Kerrville Daily Times about the current owners and their plans for the structure. I plan to keep an eye on their progress as I drive past the old house on my way to work each morning. I'm sure they'll do great!

Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteDo you have any updated photos of the old Lewis house restoration?
Thanks.
Unfortunately I do not. Perhaps I'll ask them later if I can take some snaps. Good idea.
