Postcards of Kerrville's downtown mill

Kerrville once had a mill in the downtown area -- about where One Schreiner Center is today, in the 800 block of Water Street.  Here are three separate postcards depicting the old mill.

Schreiner's mill as seen from the river.

As seen from the street; this shot was taken around the intersection of
Water and Earl Garrett streets.

As seen from below dam; there is a kiddo hiding in the weeds.
Can you spot him?

  1. Those are very clear photo postcards.

The middle one is the clearest that I have ever seen of the old mill.

I wonder how many times that wooden dam washed away during floods.

  2. On the far right side of the second photo is a large tree.

    I'm guessing that it's a pecan tree.

Regardless of the type of tree, I wonder if it is still living.
