Several of you guessed this was taken at the Charles Schreiner Mansion on Earl Garrett Street in downtown Kerrville, but it was tricky. A few years ago the old building was refurbished, and some of the original carved stonework was replaced with newly-carved replicas and replacements. This photo was taken of one of the original carved stones, which now rests in the backyard of the old mansion. So the most absolutely correct answer would be in the backyard of the Charles Schreiner Mansion. ☺
