Late Friday I got a tour of
Kerrville's Salvation Army Kroc Center, the fantastic new facility under construction.   It's going to be a real community center one of our guides told me, and I believe him, it will be a place for the
whole community.  It's scheduled to open this November.
Here are some photos I took during the tour.

| The entry way.  This Kroc Center is the only one to be built in Texas
 |

| This is what you'll see when you walk in the front door. |
| |
| The entryway lobby. |
| |
| The Salvation Army is also a church; religious services will be held in this auditorium.  It's also equipped to show movies, for theatrical
performances, and can be rented for weddings and events.
 |
| |
| Two enormous water catchment tanks which will collect rain water from the center's roof, and also the condensation from the center's
 air conditioning system.
 |
| |
| Did I mention the center has a fantastic aquatic center? |
| |
| A splash feature in the shallow pool |
| |
| The giant slide leading to the Kroc Center pool. |
| |
| Perhaps this slide is more my speed. Yours truly in a hard hat. |
| |
| The fitness room -- which will have exercise equipment and weights |
| |
| The Center's gymnasium |
| |
| The men's locker room |
| |
| This machine will spin-dry your bathing suit.  Really.  Not kidding. |
| |
| A classroom -- I think this was a crafts classroom. |
