Since camp season is upon us, I thought I'd share some of the camp images we've scanned recently. These are by Starr Bryden, one of my favorite local photographers. A special thanks to
Lanza Teague for sharing these images with all of us.

I was a camper at Camp Arrowhead for Girls from 1980 to 1987 and I served one year as a counselor. They remain, to this very day, both the most formative experience of my life as well as the one thing from which I draw the most strength. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures of the place that brought so much joy to myself as well as thousands of lucky young Texas girls.
ReplyDeleteme too. I went to Camp Arrowhead from 1971 to 1980. Camp Arrowhead was a saving grace for me. I was so empowering and gave me confidence. It taught me so much about the importance of friendship. Wonderful memories. I am so sad about the flood and the many losses that recently occurred in Hunt. It was fortuitous for the camp to move in a new location to be away from flood zone. I am so glad everyone was safe at Camp Honey Creek.
