I came across this directory the other day, and I think it's wonderful. It's surprising how few entries there are for the little towns in West Kerr. This was published around 1938 (from the look of the Martha Washington 1 1/2 cent stamp), well before
Hill Country Telephone Cooperative started, which opened up this area for telephone service.

I remember the Kerrville Greenhouses and Saenger Lumber. Those were good businesses to deal with. In those days, customer service really meant something. I don't see true customer service very much these days.
