1950s Kerrville -- a busy downtown

I love this old postcard of Kerrville.  Downtown was bustling with activity in those days.  Hopefully it will be again, soon.

The photographer was likely on the roof of Peterson's Garage.

  1. I love old post cards, and this, too, is one of my favorites.

  2. In the 1950's and before, downtown was bustling because that's where everything was. It was literally one stop shopping... Groceries, drug stores, clothing, cafes, gasoline, movies... You name it, it was there and in most cases only there. Downtown may "bustle" again, but not for the reasons you see in the photo....

  3. Hey Joe, this would be a good opportunity for a Then and Now photo. See if you can sneak up to the parking garage and find a sister spot for you camera.
